An overview of Bedway Builds projects includes:
• JOINT VENTURES:
Marriott Springhill Suites, Wheeling, WV
Project: A 115-room, all suite Marriott hotel with meeting room capacity for 115 people, work out facility and indoor pool and spa.
Background: Bedway Development Corp. teamed up with Kratsa Properties of Pittsburgh, PA to develop and operate this above-mentioned project. The hotel sits on a plateau in the Woodsdale section of Wheeling, overlooking Wheeling Jesuit University’s campus. The site is part of a 4-acre plateau development site. Current plans call for a restaurant on an adjacent parcel as well as luxury condominiums on another adjacent tract. All site development was performed by Bedway Development Corp.
Details: The Marriott Springhill Suites in Wheeling, WV, received a first place award for the opening of this hotel in the Spring of 2008. This award is given based on the opening inspections by the Marriott Corp. Construction Inspection Team. This first place was a competition between all Springhill Suites opened in the United States for 2008. Bedway Development Corp. not only constructed the hotel but also self performed all FF&E installations at the hotel.
• DESIGN/BUILD TO SUIT PROJECTS
Marathon/Subway at Exit 215, St. Clairsville, Ohio
- Combination C-store, gas station and Subway for a repeat client
- Handled all design, permitting and construction for this project.
All State Insurance Office – Wheeling, WV
- Designed and constructed for a private insurance company in Wheeling, WV
Ohio Heat Transfer – St. Clairsville, OH
- Assisted the owner in site selection
- Visited the owner’s existing facility and listened to his needs and then designed a custom manufacturing facility for this individual user
- All design, permitting and construction
Car Wash – Follansbee, WV
- Custom designed a car wash with an adjacent retail facility
- All permitting and construction
- Provided the coordination with the car wash vendor/subcontractor’s installation
Shirts -n- More – Wheeling, WV
- Assisted with the design, permitting and zoning compliance issues
- Constructed the warehouse/manufacturing space
Our Lady of Lebanon Church Social Hall – Wheeling, WV
- Assisted the church committee with the design and construction of a social hall attached to a historically significant church
Belmont County Agricultural Buildings - St. Clairsville, OH
- Designed and constructed five new agricultural buildings for the new Belmont County Fairgrounds
TIFFIN UNIVERSITY
Bedway Development Corp. teamed up with University Housing Solutions to construct two residence halls in Phase I (Phase II will add two more residence halls) in a quad style layout on the Tiffin University campus. The site was challenging in that it was a contaminated former junk yard for the previous 80 years or so. Bedway Development Corp. worked closely with URS Corp. and University Housing Solutions to overcome the site issues as well as the short construction time table. The buildings were started in mid-February 2009 and completed at the beginning of August 2009.
Each building was three stories, each with approximately 21,000 s.f./building. The layout was a suite/apartment style. Phase II is scheduled to be completed in August 2010.

Advance Auto – Wheeling, WV: A 7,000 s.f. single-tennant in the Elm Grove section of Wheeling
National Pike Plaza – Wheeling, WV: A neighborhood plaza in the Woodsdale section of Wheeling, current tenants include:
- Blockbuster
- Radio Shack
- Advance Auto
- Gumby’s Cigarette World
- Defelice Pizza
• FUTURE PROJECTS
Plateau Commons – Wheeling, WV:
A 10-20,000 s.f. plaza in the Woodsdale section of Wheeling, adjacent to the new Marriott Springhill Suites hotel. Now leasing, will build to suit.
